Isabel Krone, Diary

Isabel’s granddaughter Caroline Barrell has undertaken the momentous task of digitising a diary that belonged to our grandmother. It somewhat sporadically spans from the end of the nineteen thirties to the nineteen seventies. There are surprising entries and rare insights to everyday life at The Myrtles. I don’t doubt that Grannie would’nt’ve expected her personal notes to be made public in this way but after the passage of as much as 83 years we can look at it as an historical document. There is a convention that says that once a generation has left this life their documents and memorabilia can be shared openly. Included on this page are some notes written by her husband Stanley and that were found in the diary.

The entries will be reproduced here.
